Opportunities for PhD applicants

I am happy to hear from motivated applicants interested in projects involving extremes, disaster-related statistics, spatial and spatio-temporal statistics, Bayesian inference, causal inference, environmental statistics and related areas.

Possible PhD topics include:

  • causal inference for extremes and extreme event attribution;
  • downscaling and prediction of rainfall extremes from climate model outputs;
  • Bayesian spatio-temporal modelling of extremes;
  • data fusion for environmental extremes;
  • landslide hazard modelling;
  • weather-driven risk in energy and infrastructure systems;
  • statistical methods for environmental AI.
